Our Beliefs
We hold the faith which is common to all the believers:
(Titus 1:4, Jude 3)
The Bible is the complete divine revelation inspired word by word by God through the Holy Spirit
(2 Pet. 1:21, 2 Tim. 3:16)
God is uniquely one, yet triune — the Father, the Son, and the Spirit
(1 Tim. 2:5a, Matt. 28:19)
The Son of God, even God Himself, was incarnated to be a man by the name of Jesus Christ
(John 1:1, John 1:14)
Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption
(1 Pet. 2:24, Eph. 1:7a)
Christ resurrected from among the dead on the third day
(1 Cor. 15:4)
Christ ascended to the right hand of God to be Lord of all
(Acts 1:9, Acts 2:33, Acts 2:36)
Whenever any person repents to God and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, he is regenerated (born again) and becomes a living member of the one Body of Christ
(Acts 20:21, John 3:3, Eph. 1:22-23, Rom. 12:5)
Christ is coming again to receive His believers to Himself
(1 Thes. 2:19)

Church History
In 1985 a group of believers met to worship together.
That Christian fellowship led to the forming and organizing
of West Stanly Baptist Church.
West Stanly Baptist began in August of 1986 with 35 charter members.
It has grown to a church
with an average attendance in the 170's. The first pastor we called was pastor George Quick.
We met at the Locust Community Center. It was decided that when we had saved $30,000 wewould begin building. The property was brought from Mr. & Mrs. Reese Smith, who agreed
to sell 18 acres to the church in 4 parcels to be closed on as the Lord provided the funds.
The 1st parcel was bought for $9,000 in 1986.
Blueprints were provided from the Southern Baptist Convention and were designed to be built in 3 phases.
Phase 1 was begun in July 1987.
The work was mostly done by the members. The men built and women provided food and kept the building site clean.
Extra help came from Baptist Men from neighboring associations
who came and donated their time and talents to the building of the church. The building was dedicated to the Lord in December of 1987.
The first services were held using old wooden chairs
on the cement floor; God provided the carpet at a later time. Through God's provision a lot of materials and labor were donated. The original building of 4,000 sq. ft. at a cost of $40,000.
To the original parcel of land was added, the other 3 parcels
with the last being bought and paid
for in 1990. As the church grew in number, so did our facilities.
As God provided the funds,
the gym was completed in Dec. of 1996, the new sanctuary,
classrooms and offices in May
of 1998, the new kitchen and parlor area in Feb. of 2000. Recent projects include a drive-thru
for inclement weather days, a children's playground, and the softball field (complete with donated lights.)
God has accomplished much with little in His time, all debt free,
for which We Praise the Lord.
As we reflect on where we have been and what God has accomplished in the past, through His faithful people, let us not rest there, but be encouraged to continue with boldness of faith in
sharing the Love of Jesus Christ and His great gift of Salvation with all of those who will hear and believe. As we look forward to that Ultimate Homecoming with our
Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven…
